We’re 1!!

Wow, we’re turning one! It’s hard to imagine that a year ago a woman with a dream (me!) quit her job and bet on herself, founding Erin Leonard Events. She started out with one client and a very simple website she built herself.

12 months later, we’re a team of 10, we’ve shifted industries from event planning to marketing, we’ve refined our values and beliefs, and to top it off,  we have a much better website

It’s incredible how much we’ve grown over the past year. We have:

  • Led more than 30 virtual events and webinars

  • Managed 10 in-person events

  • Interviewed seven keynotes, including Stacey Abrams, Sal Khan, Charles Best, Hadi Partovi, DeRay McKesson, Alex Sheen, and Jaime Casap - with more on the way!

  • Represented seven inspiring speakers

  • Helped our clients discover their why

  • Redesigned two websites, including our own (more in progress!)

  • Launched two virtual learning communities (more on the way!)

  • Built a strong internal culture and invested 90 hours of PD on the ELE team

  • Started our blog and launched our Insta, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts

  • Discovered our own branding, voice, why, and impact

  • Launched our newsletter, ELEmail (next edition coming soon, sign up!)

  • Survived COVID, quarantine, and spent spring in DC for the first time in almost a decade without non-stop travel (wow it’s lovely this time of year!)

Our #1 accomplishment? Starting this whole thing in the first place!

One year ago, I had just wrapped a busy event season, with 16-hour days on my feet followed by long travel days to the next event. I missed my partner, my dog, my bed, but I was thrilled to experience the events I spent months (or years!) planning came to life for a few short days. Even with aching feet, tired eyes, and not enough sleep, I couldn’t get enough.

Something within was calling me to venture into the unknown and start something new. I knew I couldn’t let this feeling go. It was scary, risky, and no one in my family had ever started their own business and I didn’t have any personal wealth. Family, friends, and my partner all said the same thing: “Erin, you’re the hardest working person I’ve ever met. If anyone should have their own business, it’s you! Anything you set your mind to you can achieve. I’ve seen you do it!”

Thank you family and friends. Your words of encouragement have made ELE possible. We wouldn’t be here without you!
