Conferences are Sweeter with Free Giveaways, Featuring DC's Petite Soeur Chocolates
Everyone loves a chance to win something, especially when it's artisanal chocolates!
This week, ELE is thrilled to be producing the National Charter Schools Conference 2021, virtually! Along with many amazing education-related organizations, we’re sponsoring a virtual booth, in the virtual exhibit hall, to talk events. We want to "sweeten the deal" and anyone who "clicks into" our booth, will automatically be entered into a chance to win artisanal chocolates from our friends at Petite Soeur. Petite Soeur is a Black-woman-owned business here in Washington, DC, that makes delicious craft chocolates and other melt-in-your mouth goodies. At ELE, we've made a commitment to supporting and uplifting local businesses owned by black women and underrepresented individuals, and we often advise our clients to do the same when it comes to their events. Thank you to our friend Ashleigh Pearson, Petite Soeur’s owner, a restaurant vetneran and Cordon Bleu-trained pastry chef, for providing the delicious chocolates that will make a lasting impression on one of our booth visitors.
Why are we giving away deliciousness for participation? Even at virtual conferences, "free giveaways" or "prizes" are one of the best ways to motivate attendees to do something, learn more about a product or issue, or visit a vendor's booth. It's also a great way to support and uplift a small business or vendor, especially if they have an inspiring story or special mission. You'll be providing revenue and publicity and building goodwill for a strong partnership in the future. You may want to take it further for larger events - making mission-based choices about your venue, vendors, caterers, participant gifts, etc. Many state and federal contracts require diversity in vendor selection too. To get started, check out the guide to our favorite small businesses in the DC area (many of whom ship too!).
