Event Leadership Strategist Certification: Key Takeaways
In the fast-paced world of event planning, staying ahead of the game requires continuous learning and growth. At our organization, we've recently delved into certifications and training programs to equip our team with the latest skills and knowledge needed to excel in the industry. Here, we're excited to share some of our key takeaways and insights from Bekah’s recent training with Dani Kolap from MPI.
Dani Kloap from MPI: A Shout-Out to a Remarkable Instructor
First and foremost, we'd like to give a shout-out to Dani Kloap from MPI, who played a pivotal role in our journey of learning and self-improvement. Her guidance and expertise were invaluable throughout the certification process for the “Event Leadership Strategist Certification.”
Defining Leadership: A Crucial First Step
One of the foundational aspects of our training was the definition of leadership itself. Kevin E Kruse, in his book "Employee Engagement 2.0," succinctly describes leadership as "a process of social influence, which maximizes the efforts of others, towards the achievement of a goal." This definition forms the bedrock of our leadership philosophy.
The 10 Truths of Leadership
Dani’s training emphasized the importance of embracing ten essential truths of leadership, each resonating differently with individuals: Make a difference, Credibility, Values, Future Focus, can’t do it alone, trust rules, challenge, lead by example, leaders=learners, and affair of the heart. Here are the 3 truths that particularly struck a chord with our Director of Events:
Make a Difference: Leadership should not only drive results but also make a positive impact on the team's collaboration and those being led.
Lead by Example: Effective leadership is about demonstrating through actions how to guide and inspire others.
Leaders = Learners: Continuous learning is not only a desire but also a duty within leadership.
Honorable Mention: Can't do it Alone: Creating a collaborative team is crucial for success, as leaders are only as strong as their teams.
Dynamic Leadership: Embracing Change and Progress
Another valuable concept we explored in our training is dynamic leadership. It's characterized by constant change, activity, or progress – a reminder that adaptability and flexibility are key qualities for modern leaders.
